Custom MMA Fightwear: How Private Label Rash Guards and Shorts Are Made
Private label MMA fightwear is made in four steps: you send artwork, the factory makes a sample, you approve it, and bulk production follows. At QST the minimum order is 30 to 50 pieces per design, a sample takes 7 to 10 days, and bulk production takes 4 to 6 weeks after approval.
What you can order
- Long sleeve rash guards and short sleeve rash guards in polyester and spandex
- MMA shorts with side splits and a hook-and-loop fly with a drawstring
- MMA gloves and MMA sparring gloves in leather or PU
- Matching sets, such as a rash guard and shorts in one design
How sublimation works
Dye sublimation prints the design onto transfer paper, then heat turns the ink into a gas that bonds with polyester fibres. The print becomes part of the fabric, so it does not crack, peel or fade the way a printed patch can.
Sublimation works best on white or light polyester. Any colour, gradient or photo can go anywhere on the garment, with no extra cost per colour.
The order process step by step
| Step | What happens | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Brief | You send artwork, colours, sizes and quantities | 1 to 2 days |
| 2. Mock-up | The design is placed on a garment template for approval | 1 to 3 days |
| 3. Sample | A physical sample is made and shipped | 7 to 10 days |
| 4. Bulk | Production starts after you approve the sample | 4 to 6 weeks |
| 5. Ship | Packed in polybags or your branded packaging | Depends on freight |
The brief and mock-up times above are typical, not fixed. The sample and bulk times are QST’s standard terms.
What to send with your brief
- Artwork as vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG)
- Pantone references for brand colours
- A size breakdown per design
- Labels, hang tags and packaging you want
- Any rule set the gear must meet, such as IBJJF no-gi colours
Rules to check before you design
For no-gi BJJ, the IBJJF asks for tight tops in black, white or both with at least 10 percent belt colour, and shorts from mid-thigh to the knee with no pockets or exposed hardware. MMA shorts for competition must suit the promoter and commission.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for custom MMA fightwear?
At QST the minimum order is 30 to 50 pieces per design, depending on the style and print.
How long does custom fightwear take?
A sample takes 7 to 10 days. Bulk production takes 4 to 6 weeks after you approve the sample.
Does a sublimated print fade?
Sublimation bonds the ink with the polyester fibre, so the print does not crack or peel. Washing cold and drying away from heat keeps colours bright.
Can I order rash guards and shorts in one design?
Yes. QST can make matching rash guards and shorts in one sublimated design for a team or brand.
